We’re seeking Corporate Volunteer Partners to help revive the Yalding Garden!
I’m writing this message on behalf of an elderly housing community garden a 12 minute walk from Bermondsey. It’s in a very neglected, overgrown state and we’re looking to create a lovely oasis for the residents.
We would love to have a team of volunteers come and help in Summer and Autumn 2024.
This would be for a day of weed clearance, planting, and creating the new herb garden. The day includes lunch with the residents, and a game of bingo or quiz in the afternoon.

A 12-minute walk from Bermondsey Tube Station.
Bermondsey is one stop on the Underground from London Bridge, and two stops from Canary Wharf.
You’ll be supporting the work of AgeUK who support residents in older age enjoy fulfilling lives. You’ll be contributing to the local environment, biodiversity (and learn a lot about horticulture on the day.)
Outline of a day at Yalding Garden and Sheltered Housing:
We take teams of up to 25 employees to community green spaces around London for a day of volunteering & gardening.
Before the day
• We will take care of the entire booking process with our registration forms and information about the day.
On the day
• Our gardening days start at 9.30 am and finish by 4 pm. (Though we can be flexible!)
• A two-course lunch is provided as part of the day - you'll enjoy this with the residents of Yalding Garden.
• Practical activities we might be doing together including pruning, digging, planting flowers, shrubs and trees, creating bug hotels and wildlife habitats, improving soils, turning compost, litter picking and sowing seeds. Expect “hands on”!
• All gardening tools, gloves, and training will be provided.
• Our Gardening Leaders Team are all First Aid qualified.
• Awards ceremony at the end of your session gives us a chance to say thank you.
• Photos - both individual and team shots will be available from the day.
After the day
• We take care of your sustainability reporting with our concise written reports about our time together.
